WHEEL ALIGNMENT
FRONT TOE INSPECTION
Place the
vehicle on
level
ground with the front
wheels
facing
straight
ahead.
Mark the centers
of
the tires
with chalk
to indicate
the axle
center
height.
Align the
gauge
with the marks
on
the tires
as
shown.
Slowly move the vehicle back until the
wheels
have
turned
1aO
o
so
the marks are at
the
rear
of
the tire
and aligned
with
the gauge
height.
Measure the toe
on
the rear
part of the tires
at
the
same
points with
no
load
on
the
vehicle.

When
the toe
is out of
specification,
adjust it
by

changing
the
length of
the
tie-rods equally
by
loos-
ening the lock
nuts
and
turning
each tie-rod while
holding
the
ball joint.
After
adjusting
the tie-rods,
tighten each
lock nut
while holding the ball
joint.

the gear box boots are not twisted or dis-
placed.
