Figure 10-10. DHCPv6 Interface Configuration
The fields that display on the DHCPv6 Interface Configuration pages depend on the value selected in
the Interface Mode field. The following list describes all the possible fields on the page:
Interface — Select the interface for which you are configuring DHCPv6 server functionality.
Interface Mode — Configure the DHCPv6 mode as either Server or Relay. DHCPv6 server and
DHCPv6 relay functions are mutually exclusive.
Pool Name — Selects the DHCPv6 pool containing stateless and/or prefix delegation parameters. This
field displays when the Interface Mode is Server.
Rapid Commit — Rapid commit is an optional parameter. Specified to allow abbreviated exchange
between the client and server. This field displays when the Interface Mode is Server.
Preference — Selects the preference value used by clients to determine preference between multiple
DHCPv6 servers. The values allowed are between 0 to 4294967295. This field displays when the
Interface Mode is Server.
Delete — Check this box and click Apply Changes to delete this configuration. This field displays
when the Interface Mode is Server or Relay.
Relay Interface — Selects the interface to reach a relay server. This field displays when the Interface
Mode is Relay.
Destination IP Address — Selects the IPv6 address of the DHCPv6 relay server. This field displays
when the Interface Mode is Relay.
Remote ID — Selects the relay agent information option. the Remote ID needs to be derived from the
DHCPv6 server DUID and the relay interface number, or it can be specified as a user-defined string.
This field displays when the Interface Mode is Relay.
