Removal, brake release board
The procedure below details how to remove the brake release board from the robot.

CAUTION
Always cut the paint with a knife and grind the paint edge when disassembling
parts. See
Cut the paint or surface on the robot before replacing parts on page
Action
DANGER
Turn off all:
electric power supply
hydraulic pressure supply
air pressure supply (do not turn off for Foundry
Prime robots!)
to the robot, before entering the robot working area.
ELECTROSTATIC DISCHARGE (ESD)
The unit is sensitive to ESD. Before handling the unit
please read the safety information in the section
unit is sensitive to ESD on page 32
Secure the robot by moving:
the lower arm to one of its end positions
the upper arm to its end position.
Remove the rear cover plate.
CAUTION
Clean cover from metal residues before opening.
Metal residues can cause shortage on the boards
which can result in hazardous failures.
Take a picture or make notes of how the robot cabling
is positioned in regard to the brake release board.
Remove the connectors X8, X9 and X10 from the
brake release board.
