3 GPIO modules with 32 GPIOs each are used for the GPIOs. These GPIO modules
have the following properties:
The number of general purpose input/outputs (GPIOs) is configurable with the
hardware.
Each GPIO can be programmable as input/output (GPIO function).
Each GPIO input (pin) can be read by the SW.
