Changing the Configuration of the Transceiver (Front Panel
Programming Mode)
This mode can be used to change data, such as the frequency on a Conventional Channel, and to add a Conventional
Channel in the transceiver only.
Even if no KPG-D1/ D1N and PC is available, required data can be configured by using only the transceiver.
Pressing the Front Panel Programming key places the transceiver in Front Panel Programming Mode. Or, pressing the
Menu key places the transceiver in Menu Mode, and the transceiver can be placed in Front Panel Programming Mode by
selecting "Panel Program". (Refer to

To use this mode, a Radio Feature License (KWD-5001FP) is required.
Operating the transceiver

Press the
Front Panel Programming
If Clone/Front Panel Programming Password is not configured:
The transceiver enters Front Panel Programming Mode.
If Clone/Front Panel Programming Password is configured:
The password entry display appears.
Press the Menu ([Q]) or [*] key after entering a password.
