Final drive, adjusting
Adjustments to be completed after replacing individual components
When working on transmission the following components only require adjustment if individual
components have been replaced that directly affect the final drive adjustment. To eliminate unnecessary
adjustments observe following table:
Components being replaced:
Transmission housing
Input gear1)
Input gear tapered roller bearing
Output gear1)
Drive pinion
Drive pinion tapered roller bearing
Differential housing with
gear wheel
Tapered roller bearing for
differential, bearing body
or shim
Supporting ring, park lock gear or
bearing cover
1)
Always replace input gear and output gear together
