- Install socket-head fastener without dished
washer, shim and axial needle bearing, just far
enough so that gap -a- remains between socket-
head fastener and tapered roller bearing inner
race.
Gap -a- = approx. 3 mm (0.118 in.)
- Drive out input gear with VW 771 as far as the stop
of the tapered roller bearing inner race.
- Remove VW 771 and remove input gear.
