5. Before connecting the drain tube to the burner assembly, pour about 250 mL of water into the free
end of the drain tube to fill the drain loop and to activate the drain float.
6. Place the hose clamp over the free end of the drain tubing.
7. Carefully install the free end of the drain tubing over the drain outlet, making sure that the inner
lining of the drain tube does not get damaged.
8. Use a flat-blade screwdriver to tighten the hose clamp.
9. Plug the white drain interlock connector into the drain interlock plug on the burner assembly as
shown in the photograph below.
Further procedures for setting up the burner system are described in Chapter 6, Operation of the
Instrument.
To install the burner head
1. Put the burner head back onto the burner chamber while pressing the safety latch tab.
2. Position the magnetic strip on the burner head ring around the back of the assembly – it should
face the ignitor box. Release the safety latch. Be sure the burner head is fully seated on the
chamber. A gentle twisting and pushing may be necessary. You will know that the burner head is
fully seated because the ignitor will swing over the burner.
3. Put the burner assembly back into the instrument.
4. Check the burner alignment. You should readjust the burner any time the burner is cleaned or the
burner head is replaced.
Installing AAnalyst Nebulizer
WARNING
Install the AAnalyst nebulizer using the following procedure:
1. Before you install the nebulizer, verify that the o-rings are in good condition. If an o-ring
appears damaged, replace it.
2. Holding the nebulizer with one hand, remove the gas supply connector nut on the nebulizer
side arm and place it over the end of the NEB oxidant tubing.
3. While holding the nebulizer firmly, gradually and carefully slide the (NEB) gas supply
tubing over the barbs on the nebulizer side arm.
NOTE: Carefully tilt the tubing up and down and rotate it while sliding it over the barbs.

Warning: Flammable Gases – Fire and Explosion Hazard
The use of the wrong type of nebulizer for your burner system may result in a
seepage of fuel gas which is a serious fire hazard.
Use only the nebulizers specified for the burner system.
