Operation of the Instrument
1. Touch the Flame tab to display the Flame page.
2. Lower the burner with the vertical alignment control so that the burner head is well below the
radiation beam.
3. Touch the Auto Zero Graph button to zero the absorbance display.
4. Raise the burner with the vertical alignment control until the display indicates a slight positive
absorbance reading (0.002 to 0.004 absorbance).
5. Very slowly lower the burner with the vertical alignment control clockwise until the absorbance
reading returns to zero.
6. Finally, rotate clockwise the vertical alignment control an additional half-turn.
