17. Drive the vehicle, and accelerate to 20 mph (36 km/
hr), then stop on level ground.
18. From the Inspection Menu, select ''SEAT OUTPUT
CHK.'' The weight (T1) of the front passenger's seat
is recorded by the HDS.
19. Calculate the variance between the weight
measured by the weight scale and by the tester,
using the formula provided.
Variance = ((T1) (T0) (M1))
T1: Weight measured by the tester with the
weight on the seat.
T0: Weight measured by the tester with no load
on the seat.
M1: Weight measured by weighing machine with
the weight on it
• If the variance is
operation is complete. Go to step 20.
• If the variance is more than
remove the seat weight sensors, and reinstall
them, repeat this procedure from step 11.
• If after reinstalling the front passenger's seat
weight sensors, the variance still more than

weight sensors and the seat riser, then go to step
1 on ''Calibrating the Front Passenger's Weight
Sensor Unit''.
20. Turn the ignition switch OFF, and disconnect the
HDS from the DLC.
