28 – Waste Toner Full
1. Determine if waste toner in the waste toner bottle is up to the full level. If full,
replace the waste toner bottle.
2. Check the waste toner bottle full sensor (WTBF).
a. Put the positive lead of the digital multimeter on pin 7 of CN30 on the I/O
b. Measure the voltage with the light emitting window of the WTBF blocked
c. Measure the voltage with the light emitting window of the WTBF open.
If voltage is normal, replace the I/O board. Otherwise, replace the WTBF.
3. Clear the Error 28.
a. Press CLEAR.
b. Unlock the configuration menu.
c. Enter the configuration menu and select the Printer Control menu.
d. Select the "Reset Toner Full" option and press ENTER.
e. Exit the configuration menu.
