16 – Paper Jam at Entrance (A)
1. Ensure that the paper back feed sensor (PBFS) is not blocked by paper, paper
dust, etc.
2. Ensure that the paper is loaded correctly (not too far forward).
3. Check the PBFS sensor.
a. Put the positive lead of the digital multimeter on pin 8 of CN34 on the I/O
b. Measure the voltage with the PBFS blocked; 3V is normal.
c. Measure the voltage with the PBFS open; 0V is normal.
If voltage is not normal, replace the PBFS sensor after checking the harness.
