Install the Photoreceptor Drum

These instructions describe the initial installation of the photoreceptor drum
(P/N 703535-001). (When the drum life of 300,000 pages has been exceeded, the
drum must be replaced. To replace the drum, refer to page 3–31.)
To install the drum, you will need the auxiliary rod (P/N 703531-170). Please read all
steps before beginning the installation process.
CAUTION
Installation of the photoreceptor drum should be performed only by an
individual who has received the appropriate training. Do not attempt this
procedure without the auxiliary rod (P/N 703531-170), as you may damage the
drum.
The photoreceptor drum is light-sensitive. Do not expose the drum to direct
sunlight, and install it within five minutes under typical room lighting
conditions. When removing the drum from its packaging, do not touch the
surface of the drum, due to the hazardous nature of the material. In addition,
fingerprints and scratches can damage the surface and cause poor print quality.
VORSICHT
Die Installation der Photorezeptortrommel sollte nur durch eine Person mit
entsprechender Ausbildung erfolgen. Bitte versuchen Sie diesen Vorgang nicht
ohne die Verwendung der Hilfsstange (P/N 703531-170), da sonst die Trommel
beschädigt werden kann.
Die Photorezeptortrommel ist lichtempfindlich. Setzen Sie die Trommel nicht
dem direkten Sonnenlicht aus und installieren Sie sie innerhalb von fünf
Minuten unter normalen Innenbeleuchtungsbedingungen. Beim Entfernen der
Trommel aus ihrer Verpackung die Trommeloberfläche nicht berühren, da das
Material gesundheitsgefährdend ist. Außerdem können Fingerabdrücke und
Kratzer die Oberfläche beschädigen und verminderte Druckqualität zur Folge
haben.
