Loading Cut-Sheet Paper

If the printer is equipped with the cut sheet paper feed option, upper and lower
cassettes are provided. Selection of either face up or face down paper output trays is
made from the operator control panel.
Occasionally, paper may become moist and wavy, resulting in poor print quality. If
this occurs, remove the wavy sheets of paper from the cassette and replace them with
those from a new package.
In order to minimize paper jams:
Only use Xerographic-quality paper.
Load paper into a cassette adjusted for the exact paper size. (Information on
setting the cassette paper size is included on page 3–23.)
Do not gather loose paper for use.
Do not use wrinkled, folded, or moist paper.
Do not leave paper in the cassettes overnight.
Always store unused paper in a clean, dry area protected from sunlight.
If a paper package is opened but not fully used, re-wrap and seal the package and
store it properly for future use.
To load paper, perform the following steps. This procedure assumes the following:
The power switch is OFF.
The power cord is unplugged.
The right rear cover is not attached.
The printer front upper cover is open.
You have installed the drum, developing unit, and toner cartridge.
You have loaded fan-fold paper.
