About the Page Counter Software

The Page Counter preserves an accurate page count continuously. A page is defined
as either 11.7 inches of linear paper fed from continuous forms, or a single
A4/Letter-size cut-sheet page for cut-sheet printing. Maintaining the page count does
not require user interaction unless one of the following occurs:
You are using a new printer diskette for the first time.
The printer diskette has malfunctioned.
You are using a diskette from another printer.
The motherboard has malfunctioned.
You have exchanged the motherboard.
Because diskettes and printers are keyed to work together, diskettes should not
be switched between printers.
In the event one of the above conditions occurs, answer the prompts displayed on the
printer control panel and follow the directions. Table 4–1 lists the possible messages
and prompts which may appear on the control panel.
