Install the Developing Unit

To install the developing unit for the first time, perform the following steps. (To

replace the developing unit, refer to page 3–43.)

This procedure assumes the following:

The power switch is OFF.

The power cord is unplugged.

The right rear cover is not attached.

The printer is open with the two inner covers removed, the transfer charger in the

down position, and the transport unit lowered.

You have installed the drum.

You have added developer to the developing unit.

1. On the developing unit, rotate the lever fully clockwise so that it is pointing

straight up.

2. Holding the lever in one hand and the hanger in the other hand, insert the

developing unit on the guide rail.

Failure to perform Step 1 will damage the photoreceptor drum.
