7. Determine if the transfer/separator charger is normal. The transfer/separator
charger causes an Error 17 if the error does not occur during power–on, but does
occur when printing starts and the transfer elevator motor operates.
If the charger is not normal, check the transfer unit high–tension cable.
8. Determine if the main charger and pre–charger are normal. These chargers cause
an Error 17 if the error occurs during power–on, before the developing motor
operates.
If they are not normal, check the main charger and pre–charger high–tension
cables.
9. Determine if the drum is damaged. Drum scratch marks may be seen on printed
pages (occurs irregularly). If the drum is damaged, replace it.
