Drum Cleaning
The remaining toner particles, which have been positively charged in the
pre-cleaning charging step, are scraped away with a semi-conductive brush to which
a minus DC bias is applied. The toner attracted to the semi-conductive brush then
adheres to a recovery roller to which a greater minus DC bias is applied. The built-in
blade then scrapes the toner away from the recovery roller. The toner is finally
carried by a screw conveyor and placed in a waste toner bottle.
