5. Plug the power cord into the wall outlet.
6. Power on the printer.
7. Locate the black-sheathed, white/black wire pair that supplies AC power from
the AC power supply to the AC blower assembly (fan). Now locate the red
connector, near the AC blower assembly, that connects the pair to the fan.
8. While printing (self-tests, host data streams, etc.), measure the AC voltage across
the fan. (Refer to Section C, "Illustrated Parts List," Volume 2 of this manual, for
AC power supply location.) Without disconnecting the connector, measure the
AC voltage by inserting multimeter test leads where the wires enter the
connector.
The printer works best when the voltage measures 200V. If the voltage across the
fan is above 220V, the fan will overheat and shut down. If the voltage is below
190V, the fan will not move enough air.

SWITCH SETTING
VOLTAGE AT FAN
The voltage at the fan was 195 rather than 200. Power off the printer, move the
switch setting from 240 to 220V, power on, and re-measure the fan voltage. If the
fan voltage is closer to 200 (not exceeding 220), leave the switch setting at 220.
Otherwise set the switch setting back to the 240 setting.
