Error Code 26 — No Cleaning Unit
CHECKLIST:
1. Ensure that the cleaning unit is properly installed.
2. Check the drum cleaner set sensor (DCS SW).
a. Disconnect connector CN12 from the MC board.
b. Measure the resistance between pins 3 and 4 on the harness side of
connector CN12. If resistance is not about 0
3. Check the MC board.
a. Connect CN12 to the MC board.
b. Put the positive lead of the digital multimeter on pin 3 of CN12 on the
MC board, and the negative lead on the SG.
c. Measure the voltage, which should be about 0V. However, if the
cleaning unit error still occurs with the correct voltage measurement,
replace the MC board.
If voltage is not normal, replace the MC board.
Error Code 28 — Waste Toner Full
CHECKLIST:
WASTE TONER BOTTLE
WASTE TONER BOTTLE FULL SENSOR (WTBF)
1. Determine if waste toner in the waste toner bottle is up to the full level. If
full, replace the waste toner bottle.
2. Check the waste toner bottle full sensor (WTBF).
a. Put the positive lead of the digital multimeter on pin 7 of CN20 on the
MC board, and the negative lead on pin 8 of CN20.
b. Measure the voltage with the light emitting window of the WTBF
blocked (with your hand). Voltage should be 5V.
c. Measure the voltage with the light emitting window of the WTBF
open. Voltage should be 0V.
If voltage is normal, replace the MC board. Otherwise, replace the
WTBF.
3. Clear Error 28, "Waste Toner Full," as follows:
Error Code 26 — No Cleaning Unit
CLEANING UNIT
DRUM CLEANER SET SENSOR (DCS SW)
MC BOARD
, replace the DCS SW.
