3. Check the developing unit.
a. Connect J26 to CN26 on the I/O board.
b. Rotate VR11 completely clockwise, and verify that LED2 (green) is
c. Rotate VR11 until the voltage on test point TDSC becomes 5.50V. Verify that
If LED's are not normal, change the toner density sensor after checking the wire
harness.
4. Check the toner supply clutch.
a. Remove J26 from CN26 on the I/O board.
b. Check the voltage on pin 9 of CN26, and verify that it is 24V.
c. Check the voltage on pins 7 and 8 of CN31.
d. Connect J26 to CN26 on the I/O board.
e. Check the voltage on pin 4 of CN26, and verify that it is about 24V.
f.
5. Check the control voltage from the toner density sensor.
a. Put the positive lead of the digital multimeter on pin 2 of CN26 on the I/O
b. Measure the voltage. Adjust VR11 until the voltage is 5.50V.
If you cannot attain 5.50V, replace the I/O board.

illuminated and LED1 (red) is not illuminated (off).
LED2 (green) is not illuminated (off) and LED1 (red) is illuminated.
If voltage is 24V, go to Step 4d.
If voltage is not 24V, go to Step 4c.
If voltage is 24V, replace the I/O board.
If voltage is not 24V, replace the DC Power Supply board.
If voltage is 24V, go to Step 4f.
If voltage is not 24V, replace the developing unit.
Using the engine checker, drive the toner supply clutch, and verify that the
voltage on pin 4 of CN26 is about 0V.
If voltage is about 0V but the clutch does not engage, replace the
developing unit.
If voltage is not about 0V, replace the I/O board.
