Toner Density Control

When the density of the toner in the developing unit agitation chamber is lowered,
the proportion of the carrier in the developer relatively increases, varying the overall
magnetic permeability of the developer. The printer checks for magnetic permeability
changes to detect a toner density decrease. When a toner density lower than 11% is
detected, the toner supply clutch (TSM) turns ON and remains ON for 1 second so
that the toner supply roller rotates to supply the toner from the hopper to the agitation
chamber.
