8. LSCA (page last raster) signal assertion.
When the last raster of each page begins to be scanned in the fan-fold paper
mode, the LSCA signal is asserted to inform the controller of the scanning of the
last raster. At this time, checkout is performed to see whether the PRNT signal is
asserted by the controller. If such PRNT signal assertion is done, the VSYNC
signal for the next page is asserted.
9. Fuser ON.
When the paper comes underneath the fuser, the halogen lamp glows steadily and
the flash lamp intermittently lights.
Steps (3), (4), and (8) are repeated as needed to cover all the pages to be printed.
Note, however, that the conditions indicated in steps (5), (6), (7), and (9)
continue throughout printing, and the main unit feed motor, vacuum fan motor,
and stacker are continuously operating as stated in step (3).
10. VSYNC signal assertion stopped.
If the PRNT signal is not asserted by the controller at the time of LSCA signal
assertion, the printer concludes that printing is terminated and stops VSYNC
signal assertion for the next page.
11. LED exposure stopped.
When VSYNC signal assertion is terminated, the VDO and VGATE signals are
no longer fed. Therefore, LED exposure also terminates.
12. Fuser OFF; transfer unit descent.
When the last-printed page passes underneath and beyond the fuser, the fuser
turns OFF.
At this time, the transfer unit descends to the lower position.
13. Transfer/separation charger OFF.
When the transfer unit begins to move downward, the transfer and separation
chargers turn OFF.
14. Tractor motor deactivation; paper cutting.
When the perforation positioned immediately after the last-printed page arrives at
the cutter position, the tractor stops and paper cutting takes place. At this time,
the main unit feed motor, vacuum fan motor, and stacker also stop.
