Dose measurement process is as follows. First the CT conditions of
operation are set. These conditions of operation include the parameters
given in the table below.
Range of possible values
2 - 12.5 mA
60 - 96 kV
•
width: 50 mm
•
height: 55 mm
•
child collimation 15 %
•
50 mm: Low / Normal-High/ HD-Endo
•
ULD Low, ULD Normal-High/ HD-Endo
•
width: 100 mm, 130 mm
•
height: 55mm, 90mm, 130 mm
•
child collimation on (-15 %)
•
Low/ Normal /HD/Braces
•
ULD Low, ULD Normal/ HD, ULD Braces
•
width: 230 mm
•
height: 160 mm
•
child collimation off
•
Low-Normal, HD
•
ULD Offset Scan
After the conditions of operation have been set, the dose meter is placed
inside the phantom, the dose meter display is reset and exposure is
commenced. Dose meter display is recorded after the exposure.
Default CT scanner conditions of operation are:
•
Tube voltage: 96 kV
•
Tube current: 10 mA
•
Beam collimation: width = 100 mm, height = 90 mm, child patient = off
•
Exposure mode: Normal
CTDI
= 14.98 mGy
100 (centre)
The location of the position where the CTDI
1 cm in from the surface of the phantom as specified for this measurement)
is on the mid sagittal line of the imaged volume, posterior to the axis of
rotation.
C-arm: CTDI
100 (peripheral, max)
has the maximum value (i.e.
100
= 16.94 mG
