Calculating polar coordinates
Trigonometric Calculations
Calculating a Cartesian coordinate
and the radius
Fig.11-35:
Calculation of polar coordinates from Cartesian coordinates
You can calculate the polar coordinates from Cartesian coordinates as follows:
1.
Ensure that the coordinate system on which your calculation is based is
activated. For diameter programming check "Turning".
2.
Enter the pole coordinates. As in all entry fields, expressions are allowed.
3.
Enter the horizontal and the vertical Cartesian coordinates in any order. If
only the distance of the point to the pole is known, activate ">>" in order
to switch over to the incremental entry. Enter the distance with sign and
always as radius measure.
4.
Initiate the calculation using the return key or by changing the focus.
Fig.11-36:
Calculating a Cartesian coordinate and the radius
The specified calculation from an angle or a Cartesian coordinate is performed
as follows:
1.
Ensure that the coordinate system on which your calculation is based is
activated. For diameter programming check "Turning".
2.
Enter the pole coordinates. As in all entry fields, expressions are allowed
(see
Syntax for Expressions
).
3.
Enter the angle coordinate in the provided field.
4.
Enter the given horizontal and/or vertical Cartesian coordinate. If only the
distance of the point to the pole is known, activate ">>" in order to switch
over to the incremental entry. Enter the distance with sign and always as
radius measure.
5.
Initiate the calculation using the return key or by changing the focus.
