Header
In the header, it is distinguished between
"Variable editor"
freely editable list in the operating area "Program" <OP4> and in the
mode "Edit online" under the operating area "Machine" <OP3>.
"Variable list"
only the variable values can be edited under the operating area
"Machine" <OP3>. No variables can be added or deleted.
Either the list name including the path specification is displayed in brackets or
when displaying the list of all variables in the "Complete list".
Main Area
The variables are displayed in a list in the main area of the variable editor.
List Storage and List Access
There are two types of variable lists:
Display of all variables in the system (complete list).
Display of a self-defined subset of variables
Display of All Variables
An internal list of all existing variables is created. It is displayed in operating
area "Machine OP3" <OP3>.
Display of a Subset of Variables
If a subset of the existing variables is to be displayed, a list of variables is first
created.
It is called in the operating area "Program" <OP4>, F-key <New>, F-key <Var‐
iable list>.
A self-edited list can be stored in the file system of the control.
If the list should be declared as "active list", there are the following options:
In case of an opened list via the F-key <Activate variable list>
Select the list in the MTX Navigator and via the F-keys <F7 Variable func‐
tions>,<F3 Activate variable list>.
A variable list is declared as active if it communicates with the control and dis‐
plays its current values.
The data type of a list can be identified by the file extension of the list name
(*.var ).
The active list is opened (all or some variables) by default in the
operating area "Machine" <OP4> with the F-key <Active varia‐
bles>.
Navigation and Cell Selection
To enter a variable value, the desired entry cell of the value first has to be
selected as follows:
Click on the desired cell with the mouse or
