Calculator
Overview

Layout

the text box, into which the result is to be pasted, received the entry focus
before opening of the calculator,
●
the calculator is called using a shortcut and
●
the dialog into which the result is to be pasted, was prepared for direct
pasting.
The possibility to directly paste the value is always available if the calculator
dialog displays one button with "OK" and one with "Cancel". The possibility to
directly enter a value can be seen from the layout of the calculator dialog.
OK
"OK" inserts the selected results or also several values shown on a calculation
form and closes the dialog (direct paste). "OK" is disabled as long as no result
has been selected and/or an entry error is pending.
"Cancel" closes the calculator without directly inserting a result afterwards. If a
result has been selected by "Copy" in advance, it can be pasted from the clip‐
board.
Close
The "Close" button is shown if the pasting is only possible via the clipboard. It
closes the "Calculator" dialog.
If an input field in the calculation forms is edited, the fields mathematically de‐
pending on this field are automatically emptied. From this temporary emptying,
you can very well see the mathematical relations of the individual variables.
Calculation of the depending variables from the specifications is initiated with
the return key (<Enter>). With the calculator, you can also use the result key
(<=> key or shortcut <=>).
Incorrect entries that are pointed out by a display or an error box can generally
(except for the calculator) be corrected by an immediate text box change or by
discarding the latest entry using <Esc>.
After the calculation, the calculation forms (again except for the calculator)
show several numerical values that can be considered for the result transfer.
The desired result must be selected using "Copy" on the right (for the calculator
the "COPY" key). You can also set the focus into the respective text box and
copy the value displayed there using <Ctrl>+<C>. It is also possible to select
one part of the shown content by marking it in advance. The selection by copy‐
ing the value enables the "OK" button for direct pasting. Calculation forms
without buttons allow for the analysis of all visible and relevant values in the
target dialog and their recording (insertion) as entries.
As described above, direct insertion is initiated using the "OK" button if availa‐
ble. Otherwise, you must insert the clipboard content.
Operation and layout of the implemented calculator are based on devices as
they are used in schools and offices. The capacity is tailored to the requirements
in the technical area, particularly the part programming, and thus lies between
a simple standard calculator and a scientific calculator.
The calculator is located in the "Calculator" tab.
It has a result display, status displays and a keyboard with a classification into:

Operating and function keys with double assignment,

Keys for the memory,
●
Numeric keypad and
