After the calculation, the result is available for the automatic insertion. For
this purpose, the dialog must show one "OK" button and one "Cancel"
button. In order to be able to transfer the result using the clipboard, you
must press the "COPY" key. The status display now shows "COPY" - evi‐
dence that a value has been saved to the clipboard and that it currently
still complies with the display.
The calculator considers the operators' priority. For an order deviating from the
priority rules, brackets must be used. For this purpose, the keys "[(" and ")]"
and/or the shortcuts for the left bracket <(>, <[> , <{> and <)>, <]> , <}> for the
right bracket are available. The number of currently open brackets is shown in
the central status display.
When entering a right bracket, the interim result of the expression in brackets
is shown.
You can use brackets as often as you want and open as many brackets as you
want.
Example:
Brackets and Priority of Operations
2+8×3= is to be calculated. Complying with the priority rules, 2+(8×3)=26 is
calculated. If, however, you wanted to calculate (2+8)×3=30, you must explicitly
put the addition in brackets.
You can at any time use the displayed result of a calculation as first operand
for the next calculation. Thus, entry of the first operand is omitted. You can use
this procedure in many cases instead of brackets.
The functions always use the displayed value as argument and immediately
show the function value. I.e. the Reverse Polish Notation applies to functions,
i.e the order argument and then the function itself.
Example:
Functions
The sine of 30° is to be calculated.
For this purpose, you enter "3" "0" "sin" "=" and get 0.5.
If the argument is an expression, set the argument in brackets.
In the example sin(28+4.5), you have to enter "∙" "[(" "2" "+" "8" "+" "4" "∙" "5"
")]" "sin".
The function keys are assigned twice. Usually, the second key assignment is
the corresponding reverse function of the fist level assignment. The second key
assignment is activated using the "2nd" key whereas the labeling changes, as
well. The second key assignment will only be valid for one click or one shortcut.
The second key assignment can also be activated by keeping the <shift> key
pressed.
Example:
Second Key Assignment with Functions
The arc sine of 0.5 is to be calculated.
Enter "∙" "5" "2nd" "asin" "=" and you get 30.
The trigonometric functions either work with degree measure or radian measure
(radiant). The currently active unit can be seen in the status display. "DEG"
