The default channel dialog shows three to four channel windows at the same
time (depending on the screen resolution).

The compact channel dialog displays eight to twelve channel windows at the
same time (depending on the screen resolution).
If fewer channels are configured in the system, the channel windows remain
empty.
The compact channel dialog is possible with more than 4 channels.
The active channel is highlighted within the channel dialog (1).
