Turn the circuit breaker OFF for the unit where the power converter is being
replaced. Use the table below to determine which FSP circuit breaker serves
the faulty power converter.

Replace the NT6X53 card using the common replacing a card procedure in
this document. When the card has been replaced, return to this point.

Power up the STAR unit as follows:
a
Make sure the power converter (NT6X53) is inserted. A major audible
alarm may sound. This alarm is silenced when power is restored to the
converter.
b
Set the circuit breaker to the ON position. The Converter Fail LED on the
power converter and the MAJ LED on the FSP will be extinguished.

Static electricity damage
Before removing any cards, put on a wrist strap and connect
it to the wrist strap grounding point on the left side of the
frame supervisory panel (FSP) of the STAR. This protects the
equipment against damage caused by static electricity.
