5.16 Creating the license key and downloading it to the CF card
As described in Chapter Overview of operating modes, functions and required licenses
(Page 20), a license key is required and must be transferred to the CF card. Proceed as follows:
1. Have the Certificate of License supplied with the product to hand.
2. Generate a license key using the "Web License Manager". To do this, use the Internet link

3. Transfer the license key to the CF card using either SCOUT or the CF card reader.
SCOUT:
– Open your SCOUT project and establish an online connection to the target hardware.
– Select the device "D4x5-2" in the SIMOTION SCOUT project navigator.

The following DCC blocks must be removed from the DCC SwayControl chart for operation with
the "Basic License":
● DCC_SCTLS2
● DCC_SCTARGETS
● DCC_SCOBSTACLES

If these DCC blocks are not removed, the SF-LED will flash on the SIMOTION. This indicates
that licensing is insufficient for these blocks.
Insufficient licenses for the operating modes will generate error message "E3 License error" or
"E5/E6 Invalid mode, trolley/hoist".
