Figure 6-13
The condition is satisfied in area A. The immersion point is reduced to the current hoisting
height in each cycle until the velocity falls below the velocity limit. The hoisting height at this
moment is then maintained. The immersion point is not cyclically set to the current hoisting
height again until the velocity falls below the velocity limit and the current hoisting height is lower
than the immersion point.

External immersion point

An external immersion point (IMPNT_EXT) can be specified by the crane control system. This
makes it possible to react to special situations, allowing the required immersion point to be set
while avoiding the effects of limiting or the reduction of the immersion point relative to the
velocity.
Switchover between the internal and external immersion points is possible via the control bit
IMPNT_EXT_ACTIVE.
If the external immersion point is less than the internal immersion point, the status bit
EXT_IMPNT_SMALLER (ZSW1_Common_PLC) is set.
Use
When the external immersion point is used, the following rules must be followed:
● Unlike the internal immersion point, the external immersion point has no maximum or
minimum limit.
● Switchover is only possible if semi-automatic mode (SAM) is not active.
If semi-automatic mode (SAM) is started, the system will not accept switchover because the
immersion point influences calculation of the trajectory.
