Using the CSS button on the system board
If the system has been powered off, the onboard indicators guides you to the
faulty component.

CAUTION
It is mandatory to disconnect all power cords from the system in order to
use the Indicate CSS functionality.
Ê Shut down and power off the server.
Ê Disconnect all power cords from the system.
Ê Press the Indicate CSS button to highlight defective components, see
section
"Using the CSS button on the system board" on page
The indicator next to the defective component lights up.

Shutting down the server

This step is only required when upgrading or replacing non-hot plug
components.
Ê Inform the system administrator that the server will be shut down and put
offline.
Ê Terminate all applications.
Ê Perform the required procedures described in the preliminary steps of each
upgrade or maintenance task.
Ê Shut down the server.

If the system is running an ACPI-compliant operating system,
pressing the On/Off button will perform a graceful shutdown.
