Connecting to a switch module has the following restrictions depending on the
connection method to switch module management interface and the
management module security level.
• Connecting through the management module console
Can connect at any time regardless of the management module security
level.
• Connecting the management LAN port directly

• Connecting to the switch module external port
When connecting to a switch module, connect directly to the switch
module not through the management LAN port without using this

Brocade 10 Gbps DCB switch module or Brocade 16 Gbps fibre
channel switch module
Can connect at any time regardless of the management module
security level.
Hitachi 1 Gbps LAN switch module (20-port/40-port), Hitachi 1/10
Gbps LAN switch module, or Brocade 8 Gbps fibre channel switch
module
When connecting to a switch module, connect directly to the switch
module via management LAN port without using this command.
When the management module security level is high, this command
shows the following message and does not allow connection.
E0561: Command was canceled. Switch module cannot be connected
with management LAN when security strength is high.
When the management module security level is default, connection is
not allowed when the management module and switch module are not
connected via L2SW embedded in the management module.
