Contact reinforcement through external relays:
For currents higher than 5A, the output contacts can be reinforced by external safety relays. The proper operation of
the external contactors is monitored by looping the NC contacts into the Final Switching Device (FSD) loop between
terminals Y1/Y2.
After activation of the Emergency-stop push button, the K1/K2 LED will turn OFF, indicating that the two internal
safety relays K1 and K2 are de-energized. The normally open safety outputs 13/14 and 23/24 will open and de-
energize the external contactors K3 and K4.
After removing the stop condition, press and release the START push button to start the safety control module. If the
two contactors K3 and K4 are working properly, the K1/K2 LED will turn ON indicating that the safety relays K1 and
K2 are energized. The two normally open safety contacts will close and energize the external contactors K3 and K4.
