voltage. Replace if below specification.

• To prevent the engine from starting when
cranking it, be sure to disconnect both
spark plug caps.
• Do not remove the clip from the engine
shut-off switch.

3. Measure the lighting coil resistance.
Replace if out of specification.
Lighting coil (1 coil) resistance
(reference data):
Green (G) – Green (G)
0.24–0.36 Ω at 20 °C (68 °F)
Lighting coil (2 coils) resistance
(reference data):
Green/White (G/W) – Green (G)
0.61–0.91 Ω at 20 °C (68 °F)
4. Connect the lighting coil connectors.

Checking the Rectifier

1. Measure the Rectifier 1 output peak
voltage. Check the Rectifier for continuity
if the output peak voltage is below speci-
fication.
