3. Set the remote control lever to the F posi-
tion or R position, and then check the
neutral switch for continuity. Check the
wiring harness or replace the neutral
switch if out of specification.

4. Turn the engine start switch to "OFF."
5. Connect the 10-pin main harness cou-
pler.

Checking the starter relay (E model)

1. Disconnect the starter relay 1 connec-
tor.
2. Set the shift lever or remote control lever
to the N position.

3. Push the engine start button, and then
measure the input voltage between the
starter relay connector (neutral switch
end) and the ground. Check the engine
start button, neutral switch, wiring har-
ness, and ground lead if below specifica-
tion. (H model)
Turn the engine start switch to "START,"
and then measure the input voltage
between the starter relay connector (neu-
tral switch end) and the ground. Check
the engine start switch, neutral switch (in
the remote control box), wiring harness,
and ground lead if below specification. (R
model)

12 V (battery voltage)
4. Disconnect the battery cables, and then
remove the starter relay.
5. Connect the digital circuit tester leads to
the starter relay terminals.
