The
Edit
screen allows the user to modify a community name and change its read-only or read/write designation. Since
the community name is required to match the name used within the remote network management software, it is
recommended the name be changed appropriately to match a new naming (and user) requirement used by the
management software.
To modify an existing SNMP v1/v2 Community Name and Access Control setting:
1. Select
Management Access
2. Select an existing Community Name from those listed and click the

SNMP Access
and
Access Control
Displays the read-only or read-write name used to associate a site-appropriate name for the community.
The name is required to match the name used within the remote network management software. Click the
Edit
button to modify an existing Community Name. The string length is <0-11>.
The Access Control field specifies a read-only (R) access or read/write (RW) access for the community.
Read-only access allows a remote device to retrieve information, while read/write access allows a remote
device to modify settings. Click the
Edit
button to modify the properties of an existing SNMP V1/v2 community
