This supplemental manual describes the functions added with a GA700 software upgrade (PRG: 01031), and should
be read to ensure proper usage. Read this manual together with the "GA700 Quick Start Guide (TOEP C710617 xx)"
included with the product and the "GA700 Technical Manual (SIEP C710617 xx)" that can be found on our
documentation website. Always observe the safety messages and precautions to ensure correct application of the
product.
The software version is indicated on the nameplate affixed to the side of the product, and also can be viewed by using
monitor parameter U1-25.
This supplemental manual explains about these modifications:
1. Improved Operation during Operation of the External 24 V Power Supply
2. Improved Operation when Digital Input Option DI-A3 is not Connected

By supplying an external 24 V power supply to terminals PS-AC, the GA700 can operate control circuits even when the
main circuit power supply is OFF.
Action during operation of the external 24 V power supply has been improved as follows.
Analog signals can now be output by analog output option AO-A3.

The data log can now be recorded continuously.

2. Improved Operation when Digital Input Option DI-A3 is not Connected
The following functions will be enabled when the digital input option DI-A3 is not connected to the drive and F3-01 =
8 [Digital Input Function Selection = Multi-Function Digital Input] is set:
H1-40 to H1-42 [Mbus Reg 15C0h bit0 to bit2 Input Func]

H7-01 to H7-04 [Virtual Multi-Function Input 1 to 4]

