telnet
telnet
telnet <destination ip address>
The telnet verb creates a terminal connection with
another router or any IP host that supports the telnet
protocol.
Use the telnet verb with the IP address to be called:
telnet 198.200.200.10
Pressing ctrl d ends a telnet session.
trace window
tw
The trace window displays system messages to show
what actions the internal processes of the unit are
performing at that time. The trace window can be
accessed from any menu by typing tw at the prompt. To
exit from the trace window at any time press the space
bar.
The trace window often contains more information than
the user requires as it is designed for diagnosis of
complex problems by qualified support personnel. The
messages displayed by the system change between
software revisions as new product features are added or
enhanced.
There are four levels of tracing: 0, 1, 2 and 3, with the
higher levels providing more trace details. Tracing levels
are set in the debug# object (Chapter 17).
