Rip1compat, rip1subnet, rip1, rip2
The type of RIP support used on this path.
The values here are as follows:
Rip1Compat: RIP2 packets are broadcast. This
option is the RIP1 Compatibility option as specified
in RFC 1723 and is most likely to work with older
RIP1 implementations where the new RIP2 features,
like subnet masking, may be useful.
Rip1: RIP Version 1 packets are broadcast as per
RFC 1508.
Rip2: RIP Version 2 packets are multicast to
224.0.0.9 as per RFC 1723.
Rip1Subnet: This is a modified version of RIP1
mode which allows Nautica routers to work in
networks where RIP1 must be used due to an
installed base of older routers. RIP1 packets are
broadcast, but when network routes are learned via
RIP, the Nautica router applies a subnet mask as
follows:
