A value in seconds from 0 to 65535
Defines how many seconds the bridge delays before
forwarding frames following a network topology
change. It is important that the new network topology
stabilises following a change before bridges once more
forward changes.
Too long a delay may degrade network performance and
too short a delay may result in duplicated frames due to
inconsistencies in a bridge's picture of the network.

which, if received, is treated as containing valid
information.
