echo-timeout
6 seconds
A time in seconds from 0 to 4294967
Specifies the time in seconds after which the LCP will
attempt to re-establish a connection if no response has
been received from the remote unit.
This option works in conjunction with the
restart-timeout
parameter. LCP echoes are sent every six
seconds to ensure that the PPP link is still 'alive'. If no
echo response is received after three attempts, the link is
marked as down.
Enter a time value in seconds.
mlink-enable
yes
yes, no
Enables or disable Multilink PPP (MP).
With this option enabled, when the threshold limits are
reached for a path (see Chapter 7), MP brings up a
second link for additional bandwidth.
short-seq-enable
yes
yes, no
Specifies whether the link will use short or long
sequence numbers.
Short sequence numbers allow more data to be carried
per packet than long sequence numbers. This option is
useful when using long delay links, for example satellite
links, where the links can lose synchronization.
