RIP Routes
R
The route is non-permanent (unless received over an
ISDN path, when it is type RI; see
and has been learned by the IP RIP protocol. If not
updated within the timeout period, it will become
unreachable and disappear.
ISDN Routes
I
Learned over an ISDN path and is semi-permanent. An
ISDN route does not decay if an update is not received
within the timeout period.
Volatile Routes
V
Routes negotiated over PPP (Point to Point Protocol).
These cannot be amended by the user.
Directed Routes
D
Routes negotiated via Remote Authentication Dial In
User Service (RADIUS). These cannot be amended by
the user.
Temporary Routes
T
Routes whose paths are to be downloaded from a
RADIUS server.
