Cul-de-sac routing allows two networks with the same subnet
masks to communicate. For example, to save on limited IP
addresses, a remote office may use the same IP subnet as a central
office. The default option for this question is n, and to set up for
standard routing using IPX, leave this at the default and press
enter.
For information on Cul-de-sac routing, refer to
Answering n to the Cul-de-sac routing option brings up the next
question:
Internet Protocol Extended (IPX) is a protocol used by Novell to
route information across their networks. If you are using a Novell
network you should answer y to this question.
Press enter.
The network number is the 'name' of the local IPX network. If
you know this number, leave the default of n, otherwise change it
to y to enable the router to learn this number directly. Press enter.
Warning:
It is only possible to autolearn the network number if
there is a server on your local network segment. If no server is
present, you must enter the number on the path manually.
If you answer n to the previous question, you need to enter the
number of the local network here. A network number is an eight
digit hexadecimal number.
Press enter.
