CONTROLS AND INSTRUMENTS
NOTE
•
When you raise the parking brake lever, the spring force applies the rear wheel
brakes, causing them to work as a parking brake.
•
When the air pressure in the brake chamber drops below the limit, the rear
wheel brakes are automatically applied regardless of the parking brake lever
position.
If this happens, it becomes difficult to release the parking brake unless the
vehicle's air pressure is returned to a normal level.
Parking brake warning light
Operation of the Parking Brake
To set the parking brake, raise the parking
brake lever. The parking brake warning
light will then come on. Make sure that
you hear the air being released from the
system.
To release the parking brake, lower the
parking brake lever while raising the
release knob.
The parking brake warning light will then go
out.
CAUTION
•
If the parking brake warning light
remains on when the parking brake
lever is lowered, a brake failure or
a drop in air pressure may be the
cause.
Check the air pressure for correct
level.
