5.2.2 Input/Output signals
5.2.2.1 Read
To read the built-in PROM, perform the following:
• Set the CE and OE pins to "L" level
• Set the PGM pin to "H" level
• Input address (A0 to A16) of the data to be read, into the address input pins.
The contents of the built-in PROM will now be output to the data I/O pins (D0 to D7). These data I/O
pins enter the floating state when the OE pin is set to "H".
5.2.2.2 Program
To program the built in PROM, perform the following:
• Set the CE pin to "L" level
• Set the OE pin to "H" level
• Apply Vpp to the Vpp pin.
• Input address into the address input pins
• Supply data to be programmed into the data I/O pins in 8-bit parallel. (In this condition, the data is
programmed to the built-in PROM when the PGM pin is set to "L" level).
5.2.2.3 Erase (Available only in EPROM version)
The contents of the built-in PROM are erased by exposing the glass window on the top of the package
to an ultraviolet light which has a wavelength of 2537 Angstrom. The light must be at least 15 W•S/
2
cm
.

5.2.3 Algorithm Programming
(1) Set Vcc = 6V, Vpp = 12.5V and start address.
(2) After applying a programming pulse of 0.2 ms, check whether or not the data can be read out.
(3) If the data cannot be read, apply a programming pulse of 0.2 ms again.
(4) Repeat the procedure which consists of applying a programming pulse of 0.2 ms and read check
until the data can be read. Record the number of pulses applied (c) before the data were read.
(5) Apply c pulses (0.25 c ms), described in step 4, as additional pulses.
(6) When this series of programming operation steps (1) to (5) is complete, increment the address and
repeat the above procedure until the last address is reached.
(7) After programming all addresses, read with Vcc = Vpp 5V (or Vcc = Vpp = 5.5V).
