i-channel
i-channel is a service that DoCoMo and IPs
(information service provider) send news and
weather information
terminal as graphical information.
You can receive information at a set interval, display
the telop of the latest information on the standby
screen, and display it on the channel list screen by
pressing u for the i-channel ("Using Channel List
to Display Sites" → P.263). You can also select
favorite channels on the channel list screen to
receive rich, detailed information.
This service provides only Japanese channels.

* Above screens are only the images and look
differently from the actual ones.
① When you are not subscribed to i-channel.
② After the subscription to i-channel, telop is
displayed on the standby screen when information
is received or when you display the channel list.
③ Press u to display the channel list. On the list
screen, you can browse the information etc. sent
from each channel to be displayed as a telop.
④ Select each channel button to view the detailed
information screen.
■ Channel type
Channel has two types: "Basic channel" and
"Favorite channel". "Basic channel" is provided
by NTT DoCoMo and registered beforehand so
that you can use i-channel since subscription to
i-channel. The packet communication fee to auto-
update information for "Basic channel" will be
included in the i-channel service fees. "Favorite
channel" is provided by IPs (information service
provider) other than NTT DoCoMo, and you can
register your favorite channels. The packet
communication fee to auto-update information
for "Favorite channel" will not be included in the
i-channel service fees.
Note that you can display information only from
"Basic channel" on the standby screen as a telop.

submit an application to IP (information service provider)
which provides the channels separately before using the site.
Packet communication
information for both "Basic channel" and "Favorite channel"
from the channel list are not included in the i-channel service
fees.
■ Trial service
The free trial service for "Basic channel" is
available for a certain period for the subscriber to
the i-mode who is using an i-channel compatible
terminal and have not been subscribed to the
i-channel service before. Note that packet
communication charges apply for viewing detailed
information from the channel list.

The trial service is launched automatically after a certain
period from the time you insert the FOMA card (UIM) to
use i-channel compatible terminal. If the trial service is not
launched automatically, you can launch it by pressing u.
You can use the trial service one time per one subscription.
The trial service is expired automatically after a certain
period. For information on operations to cancel the service
before the due date, refer to the "i-mode User's Manual".
