The numbers and types of characters that can be
entered are as specified in the "SMS input character"
settings (P.247). If "Japanese" input is selected, you can
enter up to 70 full-pitch or half-pitch characters in all. If
"English" input is selected, you can enter up to 160 half-
pitch alphanumeric characters and symbols.
Spaces are also counted as characters.

If you exceed the limit (P.228) on the number of sent mail
messages (total SMS and i-mode mail messages) that can be
stored on the FOMA terminal, sent mail is automatically
deleted from the oldest message. Note that protected sent
mail and the mail in the Secret folder are not deleted.
Depending on the signal quality, types of characters or device
of the other party, the recipient may not be able to display the
text correctly.
Even when "Caller ID notification" is set to "OFF", your caller
ID is provided to the recipient during SMS transmission.
If you press t or y on the new SMS screen without
sending the current message, a confirmation message
appears asking whether to discard the current message text
and exit the editing screen.
You can insert a line feed while editing the message text. The
line feed symbol is counted as 2 characters in Japanese input
mode and as 1 character in English input mode.
When "SMS input char." is set to "English", the maximum
number of characters that can be sent will be reduced when
some symbols (｜＾｛｝ ［］
You cannot send an SMS from the additional number of multi
number. Set the multi number setting to the basic number.

If "ON" is selected in "SMS report request" (P.247),
you receive an SMS report after you send an SMS.
SMS reports are saved in the Inbox, and the SMS
reports are saved along with the sent SMS so that
you can check whether the message successfully
reached the recipient.
To view an SMS with an SMS report (
"Disp. SMS report" from the function menu.
You can also view an SMS report by selecting the
SMS report in the received mail list screen. SMS
reports are indicated by "
subject line.

Send......Sends an SMS.
Preview......Allows you to check the SMS recipient and
message before sending it.
......Saves the SMS you are currently editing in

resent after a certain period passes and deleted from
the SMS center.
