DoCoMo W-CDMA System Thank you for choosing the FOMA N600i. Please read this manual and the users guides that came with the battery pack and other devices carefully before and during use so that you can use the FOMA terminal correctly. If you have any inquiries regarding this manual, contact the number listed in "For inquiries" on the back cover. FOMA N600i is your efficient partner. Please use it carefully and habitually. Before using your FOMA terminal ● The FOMA network operates using radio waves. In a place where the reception is very poor, such as in a tunnel, in a building and under the ground, or in an out-of-service area, you cannot make a phone call. You may also have difficulty making a phone call from the upper floors of tall buildings, even if there is no obvious physical obstruction. And even if the reception is good (i.e. the signal strength indicator shows 3 bars) and you do not move during the call, you may still find that your call is cut off. ● When you use your FOMA terminal in public places, particularly where it is crowded or quiet, take care not to disturb the people around you. ● Since the FOMA terminal uses radio waves to communicate, there is always a risk that your call is wiretapped by the third party. However, the W-CDMA system automatically supports the tapping prevention for all calls. Even if a third party succeeds in intercepting your call, only incomprehensible noise will be heard.

Handling with Care General notes Do not wet the devices. ・ The FOMA terminal, battery pack, adapter and charger are not waterproof. Do not use them in humid or steamy locations such as bathrooms or expose them to rain or other forms of moisture. If you carry the FOMA terminal close to your skin, perspiration may cause internal components to corrode and result in malfunction. If the problem is found to be due to moisture, it will not be covered by the warranty and in some cases may be irreparable. Even if it can be repaired, you will be charged since the damage is not covered by the warranty. Clean with a soft, dry cloth. ・ Rubbing the LCD of the FOMA terminal with a dry cloth to clean it may scratch the LCD surface. Handle the FOMA terminal carefully and clean it using a soft dry cloth (of the type used for eyeglasses). The LCD coating may peel off or stain if moisture or soiling is left on the surface for a long period. ・ Never use chemicals such as alcohol, thinners, benzene or detergents as these agents may erase the printing on the FOMA terminal or cause discoloration. Occasionally clean the connectors with a dry cotton bud. ・ Leaving connectors soiled may result in poor connections and loss of power. Also, as it may cause insufficient charging, clean the connectors with a dry cloth or cotton bud when they are soiled. Do not place the FOMA terminal near an air conditioning vent. ・ Condensation may occur due to rapid temperature changes, and this may cause internal corrosion and malfunction. Do not leave the FOMA terminal in locations where it may be subject to excessive pressure or weight. ・ Do not put the FOMA terminal in a bag filled with other objects or in your hip pocket when you sit down. Doing so may cause malfunction or damage to the LCD or other internal components. Such damage is not covered by the warranty. Read the separate manuals supplied with the battery pack, adapter and charger carefully. Handling the FOMA terminal Do not use the FOMA terminal in extremely high or low temperatures. ・ Use the FOMA terminal within a temperature range between 5℃ and 35℃ with humidity between 45% and 85%. The FOMA terminal may become warm while being used or charged. This is normal, and you can continue to use it. Using the FOMA terminal close to home (landline) phone, TV or radio may affect the operation of such equipment. Move as far as possible away from such devices before using the FOMA terminal. It is your responsibility to keep a separate record of all data stored on your FOMA terminal. ・ Under no circumstances shall NTT DoCoMo be held liable for any loss or damage to the data stored on your FOMA card (UIM). Do not put the FOMA terminal in your hip pocket when you sit down. Also, do not put the FOMA terminal at the bottom of a bag where it may be subject to excessive pressure or weight. ・...

The available operating time of the battery pack depends on the conditions under which you use it and the condition of the battery pack itself. Keep the battery pack in a cool and dry place away from direct sunlight. ・ If you do not use the battery pack for a long period, use up the battery, remove the battery pack from the FOMA terminal or adapter (including the charger), and keep it in the plastic bag where it was in. Handling the adapter (including the charger) Do not charge the battery pack: ・ In a place where the ambient temperature is lower than 5℃ or higher than 35℃ ・ In a humid, dusty or shaky place ・ Near your home phone, TV or radio The adapter or charger may become warm while being charged. This is normal, and you can continue to use it. Do not use the DC adapter to charge battery packs when the car engine is not running. ・ Doing so may drain the car battery. If you use an outlet that provides pull-out prevention, follow the instructions of the outlet manual. Do not shock the adapter or charger. Do not deform the charging terminal or terminal guide. ・ Doing so may cause malfunction. Handling the FOMA card (UIM) When inserting the FOMA card (UIM) into the FOMA terminal, do not apply unnecessary force. The FOMA card (UIM) may become warm while being used or charged. This is normal, and you can continue to use it. Always keep the IC part clean. Clean with a soft, dry cloth. It is your responsibility to keep a separate record of all data stored on the FOMA card (UIM). ・ Under no circumstances shall NTT DoCoMo be held liable for any loss or damage to the data stored on your FOMA card (UIM). To preserve the environment, take used FOMA card (UIM) to the DoCoMo service counter. Do not use the FOMA card (UIM) in extremely high or low temperatures. The warranty does not cover damage caused by inserting the FOMA card (UIM) into some other type of IC card reader/writer. It is your responsibility. Do not scratch, touch or short-circuit the IC carelessly. ・ Doing so may cause loss of data or malfunction. Do not drop or shock the FOMA card (UIM). ・ Doing so may cause malfunction. Do not bend the FOMA card (UIM) or put something heavy on it.
